Linens, towels, blankets, etc. make excellent padding. Fragile and breakable items can be wrapped and cushioned by them to keep them secure and protected.  You’re moving them anyway so why not put them to good use!

IMPLEMENT A COLOR CODE SYSTEM

Implementing a color code system will save you significant time when unpacking. Simply purchase some colored stickers and assign each room a color.  When your movers and packers unload the truck, ask them to place boxes in their corresponding room. Color coding makes it so much easier to identify where the box goes vs. having it handwritten.
