Wrapping all the disassembled parts of a grand piano in padded covers and blankets is vital. This extra layer of protection prevents any damage during transit, shielding the delicate wood, keys, and mechanisms from any potential bumps or scratches.
Upright pianos often do not require disassembly, but they still need special care when it comes to wrapping. Securing the lid with tape or straps ensures it remains closed during transport. Wrapping the entire piano in protective materials, such as blankets or moving pads, acts as a buffer against any sudden impact.
