Reducing the Stress of Unpacking

in Featured, Local Moves, Long Distance Moves, Military Moves, Moving & Storage

Moving can be a daunting task.  Movers and packers are a tremendous asset on the front end, but when it comes to unpacking and organizing, that is something most homeowners wish to tackle themselves.  As we’ve mentioned in previous articles, it can be very helpful to have your full service movers unload the boxes and furniture into their corresponding rooms. This will save you the headache of doing it yourself.  We also discussed setting up your electronics and appliances, beginning to make the space your own, and the importance of eating and staying hydrated.  Today, we will cover three more unpacking tips to consider.

SET A GOAL FOR EACH DAY

Try to set a goal for each day. This not only helps you to stay on track with your unpacking, but also gives you a feeling of accomplishment.  Just make sure that the goals you are setting are reasonable and achievable.

INVITE FRIENDS OVER

Invite your friends to come over to help!  A few extra hands can make an incredible impact and help expedite your unpacking process.

TAKE TIME OFF!

While unpacking is important, it is equally important to take regular breaks and time off to help refresh your mind and body. Consider taking the afternoon off to catch a movie, explore the local area, grab a bite to eat at a new restaurant, etc.
