Preventing Moving Day Mishaps
We are continuing our series of articles discussing some ways to prevent moving day mishaps as recommended by our full service movers and packers. Our previous articles covered the importance of properly packing boxes so they can be safely moved, organizing your furniture and belongings so your movers and packers know where to set everything in your new home, using your legs to lift heavy items, and keeping foot traffic areas clear from clutter. Today, we will look at more ways you can be proactive at preventing moving day mishaps.
KEEP PETS AND YOUNG CHILDREN OCCUPIED
Pets and children wandering through your home can be a huge hazard and are at risk of getting injured. Have a set room or area where children and pets can go while your full service movers and packers are loading and unloading your belongings. Perhaps even consider asking a friend or neighbor to watch them for a few hours.
PACE YOURSELF
The entire moving process can take a toll both mentally and physically. It’s important to pace yourself and not overdo it. Once your full service movers and packers have relocated your belongings to your new home, strive to take care of unpacking at a pace that is comfortable for you. Overwhelming yourself with tasks will be counterproductive in the long run.
