What Appliances Should I Leave Behind?
Moving to a new home involves making many decisions. Deciding which appliances to take and which ones to leave behind can be challenging. 3 Guys Moving is a full service moving company who has helped thousands of satisfied customers deal with these types of moving decisions. Our next series of articles will offer some insight on how to address your existing appliances.
MAKE A LIST OF WHAT YOU HAVE
Start with making a comprehensive list of all of your appliances. This may include large appliances such as washers and dryers as well as smaller items such as toaster ovens, hand mixers, wine coolers and air fryers. Once you have your list, rank the items: 1 – use daily; 2 – use weekly; 3 – use rarely. Then, look at the qualities and features of each. This can help you narrow your appliance list down to “must haves” and “optional”.
NOTE WHAT ITEMS YOU MUST LEAVE BEHIND
Your real estate contract may designate what appliances you must leave behind. Often times, buyers will request that appliances such as dishwashers, ovens, refrigerators and sometimes even washers and dryers become part of the sale.
NOTE WHAT ITEMS WILL BE AT YOUR NEW PLACE
Make a list of what appliances will be included in your new home/condo/apartment. If these appliances are comparable or better than the ones you already have, then the decision about whether to keep those particular appliances is much easier.
