Now is the perfect time to get rid of items you no longer need.  Why pay to have movers and packers transport items you will not use?  Purging before a move also helps reduce the amount of unpacking and organization you will need to do later.

Moving companies will pack and move the items you designate.  If you want to move any items yourself, be sure to set them aside.  Some people choose to keep certain things like jewelry, urns, pet supplies, personal items, etc. with them instead of sending them with the packing and moving company .

ORGANIZE AND INVENTORY YOUR BELONGINGS

It is a good idea to organize and inventory your belongings before the movers and packers arrive.  This will help make unpacking and organizing easier when you arrive at your new location.
