Make “Time” to Say Goodbye

One of the toughest aspects of a military move is the goodbye. Make sure you and your children allow ample time to say goodbye to friends, family, and even fun things you did in the area. Enjoy a meal at your favorite restaurant. Visit your favorite store. Give everyone ample time for closure.

A New Chapter Begins!

Your new adventure begins on the day your movers and packers arrive!  Keep moving forward and help everyone get excited about the new adventure. Take time when you arrive to your new destination to do some “fun” things in between unpacking. Most importantly, be supportive of one another and understand that everyone handles closure and new beginnings differently. Some family members may need more time to adjust, and that is perfectly OK. Let them know you are there for them.
