If you are living in an area that is more expensive than you can afford, then you may be more limited on being able to participate in leisure activities, etc. If you have to work multiple jobs to make ends meet and are spending more time at work than at your house, then where you live may feel like more of a pit stop than home. So, be sure to consider whether or not you can comfortably afford the home you plan to purchase and if the area itself is affordable based on your income.
Amenities
Do you love golf? Then consider moving into a community with a golf course. Love to swim? Consider purchasing a home with a pool. Some neighborhoods have community pools, tennis courts, gyms, etc. Having amenities nearby allows you to do the things you like to do without traveling very far. This can go a long way towards helping a house feel like a home.
